Are you an expert in Health, Safety & Environment and do you have demonstrable experience in the mining industry? Do you have demonstrated operational hands-on experience in initiating, formulating, and implementing new HSE processes and procedures? If so, we are looking for you.
Your challenge
As HSE Specialist Mining you take the lead in optimization of our HSE systems, reporting and procedures in our Mining area within the boundaries of the Nobian HSE framework. You support, advice and coach the front leaders (internal & external) on our Mining locations and drive culture change.
Your responsibilities
- You will initiate and perform field inspections, support risk assessments, coordinate HSE meetings and toolboxes & drive follow-up on actions & learnings.
- You will assure that our Mining operation complies with local law and branch standards.
- Together with the central HSE competence team and site HSE community you drive the organization towards a commitment-based safety culture.
You will be part of our Mining Department and will report into the Deputy Mining Director. This position can be based in Delfzijl or Hengelo.
Have you got what it takes?
To be eligible for this challenging position you bring at least 10 years relevant work experience as HSE Specialist in a Mining environment.
Next to this, you:
- Have an academic degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering Environmental Science or similar.
- Have demonstrable experience in HSE in the field of Mining, specifically on drilling rigs.
- Have experience in culture change processes.
- Are fluent in English, both verbal as in writing.
- Are willing to travel 20-40% of your time.
